You notice a faint visual after closing Chrome, displaying a brief image of what you just viewed, which disappears quickly. This happens when switching back to the desktop. It might be related to how the GPU handles the display or the graphics drivers. The difference in panel type (TN vs IPS) and hardware specs could play a role.

It seems like the issue might stem from either a low refresh rate or poor image persistence in the panel. Usually, it takes weeks or months of repeated images before noticeable changes appear, and even then, corrections may be slow. This pattern hasn’t happened before with your current setup. Could you specify which machines or models you’re comparing? Is this a software problem visible on screenshots, or is it a display-related issue? Having an example would help clarify the situation.

Yeah here's a video of it. It shows after closing Chrome (but it seems to be any app which is the last to close before going back to desktop only) 2018-06-02 22-00-28.mp4 Edit: also, I just booted up the laptop a couple minutes ago. When I made this thread yesterday, the ghost window lasted at least a second

I figured it out with assistance from a different forum. Just check the system properties and uncheck the box for animating windows during minimization and maximization. It might make the issue less noticeable.
