I use two monitors and thought about switching to fullscreen, but I’m not sure it’s necessary anymore. With two screens, the performance gain from dedicated fullscreen isn’t as clear, and using alt+tab is simpler in windowed mode.

For the majority of games, windowed or boarderless windowed settings work best, particularly when you frequently switch monitors. Certain titles may experience mouse drift beyond the screen and unintended clicks outside the game.

^ Several multimonitor programs promise to stop the game screen from shutting down. Using DisplayFusion you can also secure your mouse to the active window, even if the game tries to close it. I've mainly used borderless windowed only when the software supported it well and when there were frequent problems with alt-tabbing.

I work with three monitors and experienced some issues with one game during those days. While dual monitors usually worked fine, DirectX would complain when clicking outside the window. DisplayFusion seems to be a better option. I might buy it myself.
