I’m aware the memory isn’t in the motherboard’s QVL, but since it’s G.Skill, shouldn’t it run faster than 2133? The RAM slots are correctly positioned according to the manual for a dual-channel configuration. The PC boots normally and lighter applications run smoothly even with the memory enabled in XMP, but programs like Photoshop or Blender crash immediately when I launch them. Anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this issue or how to improve performance? what voltages, speeds and settings have you experimented with? ryzen can struggle with ram performance at its xmp configurations, as xmp is tailored for intel. you might want to use the ryzen dram calculator. i think a 15-15-15-15 might be a mistake—likely it should be 15-15-15-35. start with 2933mhz, which is the officially supported rate, paired with 16-19-19-19-58 timings and 1.35v on the dram. if that works, gradually raise the frequency and refine the timing until it fails, then boost voltage and repeat. it should be safe to adjust until you reach around 1.45v.
