My setup includes a Ryzen 5 2600, an RTX 3060, and 16 GB of RAM (3200 MHz, not overclocked). Recently, my gameplay quality dropped significantly. In games like Rocket League, I used to consistently see around 240 frames, but now it fluctuates—sometimes below 200, occasionally under 100. Streaming on Twitch hasn’t been great either; my performance was very choppy and my screen would freeze. Occasionally background music would stop mid-song, causing the game to restart that second repeatedly. Despite good temperatures and stable temps, I’m unsure what’s causing this. I’ve tried updating BIOS, reinstalling drivers, and even upgrading my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5700X in a day or so. A friend is offering to reset the PC and check components. I have some basic PC knowledge but need help figuring out the problem. The screenshots I shared show typical temperatures during gameplay.
It looks like your CPU is limiting your performance. The same issue occurred with another machine using the same processor, showing only single-core speed that’s insufficient. I recommend moving to a Ryzen 5600 or 5700X3D. Updated: You mentioned planning a switch to the 5700X, but my reason for upgrading was WarThunder. At 4K resolution, it struggled to maintain 100 FPS regardless of settings, and it would drop to 30-15 FPS afterward. After switching to the 5600, it could hit 240+ FPS with higher settings but was capped at 120 Hz.
