No more choices for managing fan speeds [resolved]
Right now, my ASUS TUF-RTX3080 is running with an extremely loud fan after a recent hardware change. Initially, I tried the ASUS GPU Tweak, but it only managed to adjust two of the three fans on the GPU. After some investigation, it appears those two fans are connected through one controller, which explains the issue. However, changing either of them didn’t affect the third fan’s noise.
Later, I downloaded Fan Control, which helped for a while, but after an update it stopped functioning. So I moved to the motherboard's built-in app, Gigabyte Control Center (GCC). It worked temporarily, but enabling core isolation for gaming caused GCC’s driver gdrv3.sys to trigger a BSOD during startup, forcing me to uninstall it completely.
I then returned to Fan Control and after another update, it functioned properly for a few days—until Windows Defender flagged the driver WinRing0 as a threat and quarantined it. Now, Fan Control can only detect the two GPU fans I’ve already managed with GPU Tweak. After researching the WinRing0 problem and seeing a relevant Reddit discussion, it seems safer to avoid having WinRing0 installed.
It feels like I’m left with very limited options to manage my fan speeds or fully control all three GPU fans. I just want to keep that one noisy fan at a minimum when I’m not gaming. Fan Control was the only app that recognized the third fan as its own controller, which seems unrelated to the GPU’s internal setup. If anyone has advice, I’d really appreciate it.

Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information. Provide the power supply specifications, including voltage, amperage, age, and condition (original, build, refurbished, used). List the disk drive specifications such as make, model, and capacity, along with current usage. Include a description of all connected peripherals. Clarify whether the network connection is wired or wireless.
Solution: Start with Aorus UEFI, navigate to Smart Fan 6 at the bottom right, modify fan curves from there. My fan was named PT_FAN, but it could have a different label depending on your setup.
I discovered a workaround that seems effective. I noticed on other AORUS boards that Smart Fan 6 is available in the BIOS instead of as a standalone app during troubleshooting. I rebooted my system while the noisy fan was active, switched to UEFI and then Smart Fan, and successfully adjusted the settings for the fan that operated independently via the BIOS, not the GPU board. This part remains unclear, but it worked for me.
