Absolutely, I agree. It seems Konami has been making quite a few questionable changes online recently, and it's nice to have completed the game before any updates.

MGS:V was a great game imo, its stealth mechanics are pretty strong, story is a bit lacking but it makes up for it in terms of player freedom.

I appreciate your feedback, you're spot on about Maryl—she kept things tasteful and it was impressive. The only minor hiccup was Mgs1 being without pants in a couple of scenes, but that’s understandable for comfort. As for the games, MGS5 is decent but falls short compared to others because of its story and silent characters. Regarding mods, the only notable one was the one that led to account bans.
