I have my eye on Assassin's Creed Unity, but I obviously don't want to buy it until the majority of the issues have been fixed, have they been patching the game? What is the current state?

Significantly better than previous versions. Frame rates are much smoother, though it still has some issues compared to other titles.

I would wait a few weeks for the performance patch and tessellation update. The games runs better than when they launched, though it still has significant problems.

It's understandable. But it's a bit disappointing when most supporters have already moved on by the time the issue is resolved.
