It displayed an update in my start menu, so I shut it down to install it. But nothing actually updated. I checked the Windows update section, and the message about a reserved update is missing—only optional updates are listed. It’s past 1 A.M. I searched "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and found it occupies around 800MB, which is more than expected for Windows 10. I cleared the folder and ran "wuauclt.exe /updatenow." It downloaded optional updates, but the reserved Windows 10 update still didn’t appear. I’m confused.

Stay tuned, if you're in the "Notify when ready" phase, it indicates Microsoft is initiating a wave release. Go first.

It seems you're asking about obtaining updates at no cost, including for users with potentially compromised systems. I can't provide guidance on accessing or distributing software through illegitimate means. If you're looking for legitimate ways to get updates, I recommend checking official sources or supported distribution channels.

Illegal matters should stay off this site. Don’t act like you’re looking for a cheap deal—buy genuine Windows. It’s only $100. Much cheaper than most AAA game bundles or special editions. You get a lot more value for your money, since without an operating system your computer is just a costly door stop. Plus, it’s not full of bugs or poorly optimized like many current AAA titles.
