I built this system recently and it isn't working properly. Every time I power it on, it goes through its initial checks but then freezes with the Boot LED illuminated and no progress. I removed the battery, waited a few minutes, and updated the BIOS to the latest F7 version. I'm unsure what else I should try to fix this issue.

Here’s a rephrased version of your message:

Gonna give you some serious feedback. Honestly, there might be a few reasons why things aren’t working. First off, one of the RAM modules is definitely not installed properly. It might look straightforward, but it’s easy to get it wrong. I’d double-check that and also try booting with just one USB port to see if it’s a dead stick.

Second, the EPS cable connecting the CPU isn’t fully inserted.

Third, the ATX cable on the right side isn’t plugged in correctly.

Fourth, the power connectors for the power supply and reset aren’t connected properly.

Fifth, since you’re probably linking your HDMI or display port to the card rather than the motherboard and the integrated GPU, there could be a graphics card issue. Common problems include the card not fitting snugly in the PCIe slot, the PCIE cables not being fully seated, or forgetting that some GPUs need 2x8 or 3x8 pin connectors—you’ll need three separate 8-pin cables from the power supply. You can’t just use one that splits into two or three.

Sixth, your motherboard seems to be dead. If that’s the case, I’d recommend swapping it out for a better model like a Z690 Tomahawk or a gaming edge Wi-Fi, which are both solid options at similar prices.

I checked the RAM and GPU on another machine I assembled. Everything seems to be functioning properly. I also decided to remove the GPU entirely and connect the HDMI directly to the motherboard. After reattaching all power, case, and RAM cables, the Boot Red light LED is still on. I’m wondering if this matches what you’re experiencing. This is my second attempt with Gigybyte, and even on my first build I had to return the motherboard due to issues. I think I’ll order a replacement board and switch to an ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Gaming WIFI one instead. I was considering the Tomahawk and Gaming Edge options, but the color didn’t fit my all-white setup. Thanks for your assistance.

The strix boards perform well but feel a bit too expensive this year. They're noticeably better than the Aero, though still a bit pricey. I usually prefer ASUS, but their pricing has been inconsistent lately, which is why I switched to MSI. MSI also offers the Z690 gaming Wi-Fi with a sleek design. Avoid Giga—customer support is terrible, and they often ignore PSU issues.

I was checking out the Strix model, but a price of 360 feels high for a ddr4 RAM board. Maybe I’ll opt for the gaming force wifi if I can’t find a cheaper ASUS option. I wanted to give Giga a second chance to rebuild my trust, but it didn’t work out. Honestly, I don’t really trust other PSUs unless they’re from Corsair since I’ve had great ones from them before. I wasn’t sure Giga actually produces PSUs either.

These brands are all excellent choices for PSU upgrades.
