Determine if identical SSIDs are required for handover between two wireless APs. Check if varying SSIDs is feasible.

You already have your home Wi-Fi password and your parents' password stored. When moving between homes, your phone will automatically connect to the available network. Having both passwords in one place can be useful since devices might prefer the first connection even if the signal isn't strong. If the networks share the same name, it may assist the device in choosing the right one.

You don't need identical SSIDs for a successful handover. When you leave the coverage of one access point, it automatically switches to the next best option. This works with consumer devices, which may cause a brief disconnection. Enterprise solutions handle this smoothly, though they require an investment.

Everyone is misunderstanding the handoff process. Simply dropping an SSID and switching to another isn't considered a proper handoff. To move smoothly between access points, you must use the same SSID. The controller should also assist in managing clients across APs so they don’t stay tied to a weak signal when better options exist.
