KVM with gvt-g works well on Intel CPUs featuring integrated GPUs (generations 6 through 10). Alternatively, single GPU passthrough via the provided repository offers native GPU performance. KVM maintains close to native CPU and memory access speeds, with only a minor 1-5% reduction.

You can select a paravirtualization solution. The main challenge lies in configuring the system. Based on how many machines you have and your setup, you might require additional graphics cards and displays. This isn't a low-cost process.

Hypervisor — or was that the point? Seems so unless you have infinite resources, it’s not worth the time. Just press the button twice.

XEN, kvm, etc rely on libvirt. I didn’t actually try these tools, but I found this source helpful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libvirt

You can start an existing Linux system within another running Linux environment using tools like lxc containers, yet switching between Windows and Linux typically requires a full restart.

It might work by modifying the grub configuration file and restarting the system. This approach could be tricky since settings differ across distributions. Adjusting defaults can help, but changing them for just one boot isn't straightforward. Updated on April 23, 2022 by Unboxious thought of something after the fact
