I want a 2 + 4tb configuration for my PC's storage using Crucial T700 on the X670E Extreme motherboard. What I'm worried about is whether putting games and media on the 4TB, OS on the 2TB, and everything else on the 2TB will provide separation without slowing down read/write speeds. Will having all data on one drive actually make it faster?
It really doesn't matter. The T700 moves so quickly you won't run out of it unless you're doing serious professional tasks, not just playing games or using MS Office. This hard drive is way too powerful for everyday desktop use—trying to squeeze more performance out of it is pointless. A better choice would be to consider a cheaper option instead, since you won't feel any difference. If you're willing to spend a lot on SSDs, go for the 8TB M.2 models; they offer real value and cost about the same as two T700s.
