Above 2666mhz is considered original condition. This applies to Intel as well. It seems this won't affect the warranty.

It wouldn't necessarily cancel the warranty for the motherboard, but it could affect the CPU warranty. I spoke with Intel Support while handling an RMA for one of my CPUs. I told them I had turned on XMP, being truthful about it, since it's an Intel capability. They included a precaution or warning in their reply.

Third Generation Ryzen can handle up to 3200 MHz without being labeled (O.C.) according to my interpretation. For instance, the Ryzen 3800X would fit this range. For the Ryzen 2000 and 1000 series, reaching 3200 MHz would be seen as overclocking. I believe ASUS didn't revise or update their documentation for the Ryzen 3000 series specs, merely appending extra O.C. frequencies to their list. Essentially a copy-paste situation.

I believe the real chance comes from somehow damaging a memory controller. Both AMD and Intel mention warranty issues when it comes to overclocking, though this seems more related to CPU concerns. If you're running a stable built-in profile, they probably won't complain much. On other notes, you have complete freedom with the hardware you purchase. Companies will try hard not to lose money if either they can avoid liability or it doesn’t harm their reputation. There’s also a distinction between adjusting timings manually versus using pre-tested profiles or pushing voltage beyond normal limits. You also shouldn’t assume any support representative fully understands the implications.

I used the memory I currently possess—a Corsair 32 GB 2 x 16 GB AMD (CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16) on the latest MBD. Simply clicking XMP and setting the voltage to 3200 worked perfectly without any issues during the build process for the entire month. Later, some reviews mentioned it wasn’t recommended due to VRM performance, so I returned it. I’m glad I did return it because it was on sale at that time, and I didn’t have as much knowledge then about choosing a good motherboard. I’m pretty sure the TUF X570 meets all my requirements, and the next upgrade would be the Aorus Elite. At an extra $35, I think it’s worth it compared to the Tomahawk 450, which is only $45 more. I’m hoping to get a TUF X570 if I decide to upgrade my CPU to Zen 3 in the future—it seems reasonable at that price point.
