If traces on the motherboard were damaged, it would likely be clear when using the computer, running tests, and playing games. With a Strix B550-A ATX board, I noticed a straight gap in black paint under the GPU area, which blocks the signal. It’s possible the installation process or components interfered with the capacitors, but no visible marks appeared. There are also faint pale spots near the corner from trying to secure a loose standoff, which suggests something went wrong during assembly. Overall, it seems hard to spot damage without testing, especially if it happened during setup.

It can, but it could also be that the traces were damaged internally when bending the board (which I assume happened when you tried to fasten that standoff). I would tell you to check with a multimeter, but that would be way out of my skill range. Mounting the board can cause damage too, since manuvering it around while trying to align it can lead to some scratching as well.

It should be clear when you're playing and running tests. The system has stayed steady so far. The only issue was a board removal at that spot, which I resolved by adjusting the standoff and putting it back in.

It could, especially during stress tests. However, it might still function well for a while before unexpectedly stopping after a few years. Determining the exact cause would be challenging.

Flexing may lead to minor damage. Your board, similar to an ogre, consists of several layers, and traces could become broken on some of them. This isn't certain, and I'm not an expert, but it's possible.

Examining closely with a mini scope reveals a minor printing flaw—it appears as a consistent grey tone matching some text on the board, slightly raised under certain lighting. Smaller instances exist elsewhere but are difficult to discern. Every occurrence shares the same grey hue.

I think it might be remnants from another print job, matching the pattern on the PCB. The main issue is the coating above the PCIe connector—this could result from improperly inserted GPU, even with significant effort.
