In summary: You lost one antenna, but it might still work. Using just one can have some drawbacks compared to having both.

Signal strength could decrease and speed might drop, but it should still function. You can purchase a new SMA antenna for around $5 to $10 https://www.amazon.com/2-4g-Antenna-Inte...00UJATBX8/

According to @Lurick, you might receive a replacement at a low cost, or a friend could contribute one from a previous router or adapter.

Antennas are adjusted to specific frequency ranges. You may experience excellent signal quality in one band, while another band results in no reception at all.

Will it function as a substitute? The details were unclear to me, especially about the second unit. Are you suggesting it offers no extra advantage beyond a single unit?

That’s a large antenna, but you can find a smaller version for less money. Yes, it will function properly—just verify the height at 29.4 cm.

Each antenna functions at a unique frequency—some run on 2.4GHz, others on 5GHz. The band you select dictates which antenna the card connects to. If your setup has a 2.4GHz port but you attempt to link to a 5GHz device, you won’t find a compatible connection because the other port isn’t available for that frequency. This results in poor performance, essentially making it ineffective. As frequencies rise, the effective range decreases, requiring tighter tuning within the antenna’s specifications. The overall size may not shrink significantly, but the actual signal path inside the package will be narrower. If the design doesn’t match, using a mismatched radial increases reflected energy, reducing efficiency and lifespan while lowering transmission quality.

Only one option is available, but your speed in the spatial stream will be restricted by half.
