Your X570 board is compatible with the 3900X, but consider whether a full motherboard upgrade is necessary.

The board supports a 6+2 phase VRM design and should manage the 3900x voltage. Should I use an x570 or do you require a DMI4? Also, is the PLUS chip needed for SLC or just DMI4?

It should function properly at regular speeds. Avoid any attempts to overclock the 3900X on that board.

Reviewing the tier list shows it won't perform well under full load. A more suitable option would be the B450 tomahawk, tier C, capable of handling a 3900X at full speed with 1.25V. I've also kept the tier list available for your reference.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't initially intend to go with the x570, but the sellers often include the third generation model with it to avoid higher costs for the processor.

If you're getting a good deal, it's fine. I assumed you were planning to use an x570 board, but it seems the best option is different. As @Mateyyy mentioned, the board isn't ideal, and you probably won't be able to get the best performance with a 12-core processor. It likely has a 3-stage 6+2 phase power design, which isn't great but will still work at its limits with a 3900x.

Thanks for sharing the list—it really helps clarify which boards work best. I hadn’t realized this earlier. I’m not usually into heavy overclocking since I’m not very sure about it.
