Pressing and holding the power button usually triggers the operating system to shut down automatically. The same applies to other buttons like restart or power off. In your case, when the PC crashed and froze, it ended up shutting down forcefully, which didn’t resolve the issue—only turning it off manually resolved it afterward. I couldn’t locate any information online about this behavior, so let me know if you need more details!

Only by rapidly pressing and releasing the power button can it communicate with the operating system for a smooth exit. This depends on the OS settings. Holding the button results in a forced shutdown. After restarting, the logs will indicate an unplanned termination.

The long press is handled by the hardware directly, not through BIOS or additional software.
