He’s new to gaming and currently uses a laptop for playing BF BC2. The machine has an i3 2350M processor, Intel HD 3000 graphics, 256MB RAM (possibly upgradable to 4GB). Some sources suggest forcing the game on DX9 can improve performance.

It will function, but you're unlikely to enjoy it. At the lowest resolution of 720p, expect around 20-25 frames per second if you're fortunate.
