I previously had an Ethernet link to my PC three weeks ago before switching to Wi-Fi. I installed several networking tools like Npcap, Wireshark and Netcut. Recently I returned to Ethernet to play Fortnite due to significant packet loss. It connected to the router but couldn’t access the internet. I repeated the same setup on my laptop and it functioned properly. Now I suspect the issue lies with my network adapter. After resetting network settings via the control panel, nothing changed, so I performed a Windows reset using the recovery option. Thinking the networking software might be involved, I used the Intel PROSet adapter diagnostics tool which showed normal results for cable length and polarity. The remote receiver also passed. Connection test failed, indicating no response from a gateway, DNS, DHCP or WINS server—possibly unavailable or misconfigured. Cable link speed was 100Mbps, which is the maximum the partner could support. I attached the detailed screenshot for reference.

The 255m setting is far beyond acceptable limits for runs. For shorter distances of 100m or less, it's best advised. It seems your connection might not be strong enough to interpret the signal correctly. Consider trimming the cable and adding one or two signal repeaters along the path.

It's not exactly 255 meters. It's less than 15 meters, and it functioned on my laptop.

Where exactly are you asking about this? The only number mentioned is 255 meters.

I'm sorry to hear that. By the way, regarding your issue, I'm not sure what caused the changes in functionality now.
