I own a PC equipped with Core i3-8100F 2060 16GB. During remote work, we moved our office machine back home, which features a Core i7-8700 Quadro P400 (P400) with 16GB RAM. You probably suspected it, but I’m considering swapping the i7 into my home setup because of its superior GPU and cooling performance—though that’s not crucial. I also thought about transferring my 2060 to the office machine since its case is compact and its power supply is less than mine (it’s an OEM unit). As mentioned, the office PC comes with TPM installed. If I remove the CPU from the office board and install it on my home board, or vice versa later, will that affect system stability? Will it compromise integrity? In short, TPM mainly ensures data security through encryption and hardware safeguards, applying to any hardware that has it. I’ve only read a bit about it (CMIIW), but in essence, it’s meant to protect everything when a TPM is present.

I believe the TPM shouldn't impact it because it operates independently as a processor. Do you have the BitLocker recovery key available?

As long as you don’t power on the PC with TPM enabled, it should work. If you need to boot it, I wouldn’t remove the CPU—don’t interfere. It’s likely the TPM uses signatures or serial numbers from the CPU, motherboard, and storage to generate unique hashes or keys for its functions (like unlocking). Swapping the CPU could disrupt decryption because each component has its own identifier.

When a physical TPM module is present, everything else becomes irrelevant. The encryption details are linked directly to that hardware. If it's a firmware or software-based TPM, make sure you possess the BitLocker recovery key or disable it prior to any modifications.

You'd need to reinstall the original CPU after powering off the PC, as the system wouldn't recognize the new one.

The system includes a physical TPM, and according to what I understand, we don’t activate BitLocker for firmware or software-based TPM. However, since it’s an OEM model, it likely does have one.

Because you have a physical TPModule, you're free to do almost anything. Just avoid resetting the BIOS—it would be a hassle.
