I manage small business networks and I suspect some users believe they understand what they're doing. I've set up Windows 10 and expect many calls tomorrow about issues. I know cutting their admin rights would have been better, but when a company's CEO insists they need it and you're easily replaced, people tend to comply. Anyone else concerned?
Unfortunately, yes. I'm expecting a lot of people tomorrow and over the next few months who want to upgrade their operating system but aren't skilled enough to do it themselves. I really hate spending hours staring at a Windows update screen.
Not using my PC for crucial tasks right now means I’m more excited, but it’s pretty likely something will happen...
We're supposed to move to Windows 10 and Office 365 this week, though I'm not sure they'll manage to do it all at once without slowing us down. They might be in a rush and we could end up with broken computers for a while. The IT team is basically three people handling thousands of users, and they're not very efficient. I'm actually looking forward to not being able to work because of dubs and compatibility problems.
Forcefully place chili peppers into your nose to project an unwell appearance convincing enough for a call.
It's really about deciding whether to keep Grandma's current setup or switch her to Windows 10. Her existing version is so problematic that she can't remove anything, and even antivirus tools freeze unexpectedly before closing. Task manager seems to handle it better when you open the processes tab.
