Based on my own opinion, choosing a TV isn't the best idea. They usually have noticeable input lag and big pixels. I prefer monitors ranging from 20 to 30 inches that fit comfortably on your desk. While TVs now offer some great features, they sacrifice performance for their high cost. I’d only consider this if I had a large PC setup in my living room with a powerful graphics card capable of handling 4K resolution. Hope this clarifies things.
I plan to... when I have one at 4k I don’t need 4xmsaa, high vs ultra textures lighting and shadows don’t change much at 1080p (4k might be different). I think it’ll be fine with 4k on high at 45fps or more in bf4. Someone might find 50in 4k annoying, but they’d probably be upset about a 24in 1080p setup. Sure, the viewing distance will shift, but isn’t it better to enjoy it closer? Or maybe just get a 19-inch and sit just a foot away... (joke)
I’d just hold my breath until Seiki’s 40-inch 4K screen arrives—it’s a 10-bit display, 60Hz, DP 1.2, and it’ll drop under $1000.
It's okay in my opinion, but I dislike the delay in input and the low resolution on screens. I don't understand how they manage it, but from what I see, they seem really poor for most uses except... console gaming.
I suggest avoiding it if you're thinking about placing it on your desk. I usually have a 58-inch TV as a monitor, but I'm getting tired from it. I'm having to use it until I can get a new one.
