I've been asking a lot of questions recently, but what impact does a live-time scanner have on performance while gaming? I'm using Avast and thinking about disabling it during gameplay.

Viruses can still impact your PC during gaming, depending on the system and activity.

Honestly, even the top antivirus has had some issues with LagNorton in its 2016 launch. If your security software affects your gaming, you might want to try another option.

Just made sure I’m not checking the internet while gaming. I run a complete scan with Avast and Malwarebytes every evening.

Certain games impact performance differently. Windows Defender usually does nothing, and when it does, it doesn’t stand out. The malware scan also doesn’t cause issues during idle times. (As I experience it.)
