I used a gigabyte b650m board and saved the fan settings on Windows. I’m curious if I’d need to reconfigure the curve after formatting the PC.

Reinstalling windows or reshaping the hard drive won't change your BIOS configuration. Any fan curve settings in the BIOS remain intact.

Hey there. Updating drivers via the device manager is possible, but it depends on your system. You can check if it works or need to manually update through the motherboard settings.

It might set up the newest software available from Microsoft, possibly dating back to 2009. (Maybe not, but it gives you a sense of it) I strongly suggest checking the motherboards site for the latest updates.

Device manager will request a driver from Microsoft servers that is known to function. However, these are usually launch drivers and aren't ideal. Visit the manufacturer's website for the most recent versions.
