These directories total thousands of entries. Confirm they’re safe to remove if they haven’t been opened or added in the past month. My SSD space is limited, and this folder is quite large.

To be clear, those folders aren't considered safe to remove. You might want to use disk cleanup and check the box for system files, but otherwise just leave them alone. For example, my laptop—used less often than my desktop—has 9gb in the winsxs folder.

In reality, it works. However, you can't just remove the folders. Use the Disk Cleanup feature. It will erase files if they're safe. Or visit the official guide here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...sxs-folder
