I evaluated three motherboards for the 7800X3D and compared their features. The best choice depends on your needs, but the MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI stands out with its robust build and reliable performance.
They’ll all deliver similar results. I rely on the ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS with my 7700x; it’s remained fully stable. If you choose this model, make sure to update your BIOS because of voltage concerns with the X3D CPU. I’ve also tried the other two models in several builds using different Ryzen 7000 CPUs and RAM setups without any problems. Honestly, they’re nearly indistinguishable when it comes to gaming. Opt for the most affordable option. All three motherboards are excellent, and they rank among the top three B650 boards currently available.
Country? Cost for mobile and build? A more affordable model like the B650 works just well because their voltage ratings are all built in and they have more than 10 USB ports total—both rear and internal. Even the extra PCIe X16 slots are rarely needed. If you need more connections, the B650 LiveMixer offers 21 USB ports and PG Lightning has 17. For overclocking on the 7800X3D, the B650 Taichi Lite (ECL support) is an option.
ASUS would be the most affordable choice for me. What about boosting performance?

It features three M.2 slots, robust power delivery, USB-C port, and a solid build—plus it looks great.
The 14+2+1 configuration differs significantly from the 12+2+2 setup in terms of pin count and functionality.
They're excessive no matter which chip you use, particularly with a 7800x3D. It's around 90W at its peak.
