Hey, I'm feeling really overwhelmed after a tough week. I just moved into a new flat and the speakers keep making a loud, constant static when I connect them to my desktop. It's messing up everything. My old setup worked perfectly before, but now my monitors—Yamaha HS7—are affected. I'm using unbalanced cables.
I've tried a lot of troubleshooting:
- The static changes depending on what the computer is doing, like when I move the mouse or update files.
- It shows up less but still there when I switch to BIOS settings.
- Speakers are quiet when not plugged in and give clear sound when connected to my laptop, whether it's charging or on battery.
- Changing the speaker connections around, using different ports, or even trying two USB-powered audio interfaces didn't help.
- Using an external amp or routing audio through the GPU's HDMI didn't improve things.
It seems like whatever I'm using is getting this static electricity and sending it through the cable to the speakers. That’s strange since everything worked before. I’m worried about losing income because my equipment isn’t functioning right. Do you know where to get help or what kind of problem this is?
