I put all components together outside the case on top of the motherboard and graphics card, but after connecting everything to the PSU and resetting the motherboard, nothing powers up. No lights, no fans, just like when it’s unplugged. I swapped out two PSUs, changed outlets, used different RAM, and tried running only RAM, CPU, and AIO without changing anything else. The CPU was installed by a retailer (Memory Express), so I’m not sure that’s the problem. I’m leaning toward the motherboard possibly being faulty. Do you know any fixes or steps I should try before giving it up? Thanks for your help.

Ensure the PSU settings match your requirements. Because it's not enclosed, you likely need to engage the power switch on the case to activate it. Activating the motherboard power pins might be necessary. You mentioned resetting, but that doesn't work while powered off—activation is required instead. If you connect a fan or drive, will they start functioning?

Have you tested connecting every front I/O cable to the board and switching the case on or off? As mentioned, the reset button is ineffective when the device isn't powered up.

You're right, the case power button functions as intended.
