I've already boosted my i5-7600K to 4.5GHz at 1.205V using a custom fan curve in the BIOS, while my 1060 with 6GB RAM is running at 140MHz core clock and 350MHz memory clock. The voltage is at 100%, power is around 116% (sometimes reaching 122%), and the temperature limits are set to their maximum on Afterburner for this setup. The fan curve adjusts speed based on temperature in Celsius, like 70% speed when the GPU reaches 70°C.
When I run the Valley benchmark, it shows a core clock of 2088MHz, which seems to be the expected value since HWMonitor displays actual clocks between 1949-1976MHz and rarely hits 2000MHz. The temperature usually stays around 74-76°C.
If I increase the voltage slightly in the BIOS, would the GPU clock speed get closer to 2088MHz? I expect CPU temperatures to rise, but keeping both temps under control is important. I really want my GPU to consistently reach 2000MHz. It’s just a number, but I’m determined. 😀
GPU overclocking is unrelated to CPU core voltage. You can boost GPU voltage via MSI afterburner.
