You're starting this journey with a fresh setup. Your monitor supports 144Hz but you're using a DisplayPort 1.4 cable, which doesn't match the monitor's refresh rate. After trying different cables and even switching your graphics card, you've tried rebooting and updating drivers. It sounds like the issue might be with your GPU driver or compatibility settings. Have you checked for any recent driver updates from your manufacturer? Also, ensure your monitor is properly calibrated for 144Hz.

Disable the power supply unit on your PC. Remove the monitor's power cable. Connect the HDMI cable to both the PC and the monitor. Unplug the DP cable if it's connected. Power up the monitor, then switch on the PC. Activate the PSU and turn on the computer. Once Windows loads, download and execute the GPU firmware update from the provided link.

It appears this process is straightforward now. In fact, using a DP cable helped resolve the problem. I was concerned about damaging my GPU, especially since similar issues occurred on another desktop. Was it a GPU reset that caused the fix?
