Hey, I just set up my first PC (8700k, Asus Z370-F, Strix etc.) and face internet connection problems. I only have an Ethernet port available. I tried downloading the drivers from Asus and transferring them via USB, but the .exe asks to run as admin and then stops. I couldn’t install the chipset drivers through USB either. When I downloaded Ethernet drivers from Intel sites, it ran until it reported no Network Adapter found. In BIOS, the LAN option isn’t visible. My Ethernet cable is plugged in, the lights blinked when I connected, and the BIOS says it’s enabled, but I have no idea what to do next. Could there be something I’m missing? I haven’t found a solution in about an hour. I just realized I should have posted this in the troubleshooting forum—my apologies. Thanks for your help.

It seems there might be a hardware problem. There could be unknown devices present. Windows 10 typically includes the necessary drivers to enable Ethernet connectivity even without an internet connection initially.

Thank you for your reply @Moonzy. It seems there might be an unidentified device listed under other devices in Device Manager, such as the AIO pump and a PCI Simple Communications Controller. This could indicate a potential issue with the motherboard itself. It might be wise to investigate further before assuming it's solely a hardware problem.

Have you explored the alternative driver option? Sometimes the motherboard manufacturer employs a distinct chip for their LAN, requiring separate drivers. Consider installing version 22.9.16.0.

I attempted both previous versions of the driver. This time the install wizard functions properly, but it still leads to the same outcome as the drivers available on the Intel website. The exact error message is: "Cannot install drivers. No Intel® Adapters are present in this computer."

I apologize for the repeated update, but after spending about eight hours on this, I believe sharing the (comic-tragic) fix would be helpful. The approach was to use a USB CD reader, insert the motherboard driver disc, and install the new drivers. It seems the online resources were quite recent, so you're in luck—CDs are still useful. Thanks again, Moonzy, for your effort!
