Hello, I understand your situation. You're thinking about switching from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro using the built-in encryption and remote access features. I'm aware that this upgrade might cost around $100, but I have concerns about potential compatibility problems with your current software and games. Are there any reported issues with this transition? Also, are there any drawbacks to making the change? In short, will you be losing any functionality? Thanks!

Upgrading won’t affect your current features or compatibility. You don’t need to replace anything—just use the new product code, restart, and verify updates. Double-check that all updates are installed before proceeding.

Depends on the use case. For personal use there usually isn't any advantage. Where I work, we require bit locker and group policy management. At home I like remote desktop, although I usually just use it in VMs without any product key.

You can enhance or run applications beyond Microsoft products. For securing files, consider TrueCrypt or VeraCrypt. To control devices remotely, try VNC or Radmin. For more complex configurations, even without gpedit, registry entries work similarly and there are tools available to assist. Not all solutions need to come from Microsoft; other companies also offer useful software.
