Hello everyone, here are the system details: i5 8600K with 16GB GSKILL Trident Z 3200Mhz, MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon 750W PSU, Corsair H115i liquid cooler, and Asus Xonar Phoebus soundcard. I also have a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD. Recently, I upgraded to an MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X, replacing my old MSI Vega 56. After months of stable CPU overclocking at 5.0GHz with 1.320V, the system stopped working after a reboot. The 'EZ DBUG LED' stays on, and no display appears. I changed the MOBO pins and it booted normally. When I re-optimized, Windows restarted without issues. If I restart from Windows, it works fine. However, shutting down and restarting after 5 minutes causes the system to fail again, requiring pin resets and CMOS re-set. All fans and RGB lights remain active. I only used XMP mode successfully, and max turbo (4.4GHz) worked perfectly until 4.5GHz. Once I reached 4.5GHz, the problem persisted. The system posts inside Windows, but not when I power cycle it. I also tried an older BIOS, but that didn’t help. Putting the old GPU back in failed completely—it isn’t recognized at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

No, the behavior stays the same after replacing the old graphics card with a new one.

After reinstalling the previous graphics card, the operating system fails to detect it and defaults to the built-in Intel graphics.

Install DDU Boot in safe mode, eliminate outdated drivers, power down, switch GPU to NVidia, reboot, and install fresh Nvidia drivers. If the problem persists, examine hardware; however, verify drivers first to ensure compatibility with your GPU.

I had already tried DDU, then removed both and cleared the Nvidia drivers, after that I used another computer to get the older drivers and installed them, but the results remained the same.

Could the power supply be the problem? I tested it yesterday and the computer wouldn’t start at all. There was no indication of activity. Switching to a different cable helped it boot again within five minutes. I’m puzzled because the Vega model showed high wattage in Afterburner, yet the 2070s uses less power now. I’ll try another machine this afternoon to check if that makes a difference. The PC still boots when the CPU is set to 1.36V and 4.4 GHz. My old Antec PSU from around 2010/2011 seems to be the issue.
