I just enjoy the Vanilla maps and there are lots of servers available. Definitely worth it, at least from my perspective.
It's still valuable. You can enjoy several months of gameplay like I did. But then you become frustrated with everyone in tanks, lavs, jets, and helicopters if your preferred role is Sniper (like me). I purchased the DLC after two months and admit I'm sorry about it. The maps that came with it didn't really grab my interest for too long (I haven't found a good sniper map in the premium version either).
