Is the B450 Tomahawk Max compatible with PCI 4.0 for a GPU and NVME M.2 SSD? I'm checking since it's currently on sale, and if not, I'll go with the B550-A PRO.

It seems the problem isn't resolved by standard BIOS settings. The issue stems from the need extra shielding on the PCIe interface, which isn't included in the board design. This explains why X570 works better compared to B550.

Close. Some earlier versions from a few makers relied on home-grown bios for partial functionality. That approach didn’t work long-term. It wasn’t worth investing in or skipping the purchase of a motherboard.
