I am new to laptops and haven't experienced any issues before. My sound problem appears when I connect PC speakers, but everything functions normally with just the built-in speakers. I can play MP3 files and watch YouTube videos without any problems. However, when I disconnect the PC speakers, nothing comes out of the internal speakers. There seems to be a Realtek console app that tests the sound system and works correctly. Is there a setting I might have overlooked?

Open the control panel.
Search for "sound" there.
Open "sound".
Check the "playback" tab.
What options appear?

I own an LG full HD setup with speakers (Realtek) and headphones (Realtek).
It was configured for headphones even though there is no headphone port, only an auxiliary speaker.
Appreciate your assistance.
Issue: Switching to speakers causes sound to come out of the internal speakers, while setting it to headphones results in audio through the AUX output. Clearly, connecting a speaker should allow switching between them as most audio devices do. This forces me to repeatedly adjust the control panel to alternate settings.
