Checked the stream in the steam setting, listened through the microphone, and confirmed it appears there.

I've faced this problem before and I managed to resolve it. Have you attempted simply disconnecting it? Also, confirm that your microphone is set as the default in the recording software on your computer.

This problem has persisted for a while. After checking everywhere and trying all options, I reinstalled CS:GO and it resolved. Possibly a console command affected it (not voice_enable 0). If you can't find another fix, reinstalling might help. For Steam, the same issue appears with friends—it sometimes works one time but fails randomly, maybe related to your microphone?
