I need to refresh my bio to reflect the Ryzen 3000 series I just bought. My motherboard is the AB350M-HDV ASRock model, and after installing the newest BIOS and flashing it, I’ve used an instant update via the BIOS. The USB drive is FAT32 and connected to a USB 2.0 port. I extracted the downloaded files into the USB and tested various formats—files, contents, just the file itself. Despite these attempts, nothing appears to work. I’ve also tried multiple USB drives and reset the CMOS because of previous overclocking, but issues persist. The helpful hint is that the update file briefly shows up for about a second before disappearing with an error message. You can find more details on the ASRock website linked above. Please let me know if you need further assistance! Thanks.

The documentation on the Asrock website provides step-by-step guidance with images. Pay attention to the warning about reviewing the previous BIOS version details. Continuing through it will lead you to recommendations for upgrading.

I noticed that too, didn’t think I’d need to change it twice to reach the version I wanted... guess I’ll give it another shot. Cheers!

Sure, keep it updated gradually. After an upgrade, the system might need about a minute to start, so avoid shutting it down early—let it stabilize.

Sure, it functioned properly. I had to refresh three times before everything was current. It was a bit of a challenge, but the CPU is now installed and operating correctly. Thanks for the prompt assistance!

I understand this thread feels a bit outdated, but it relates closely to my situation. 1. I own a prebuilt CyberPowerPC. 2. I managed to obtain the BIOS update for Instant Flash (ASRock B450M "Gaming"). 3. I saved and extracted the file. 4. I used several USB 2.0 drives. 5. I formatted them with Rufus, Disk Part, and standard Windows using FAT32. 6. I selected NON BOOTABLE during setup. 7. I tried GPT and MBR partition types. 8. I set the sector to default values of 8192 and 4096. 9. The drive is 16GB. 10. I attempted both F2 and "Instant Flash" and F6 to launch the utility. 11. BIOS boot override lists the drive as connected. 12. All USB 2.0 ports remain unchanged. Regardless of my actions, the file still doesn’t appear. I even tried the latest version for a similar board (ASRock B450/AC) but it wasn’t recognized either. Instant Flash doesn’t show up at all. I’ve included the BIOS file as provided by CyberPower. I’m certain I’m doing something incorrect, but there seems to be no way to recognize this file through any method I’ve tried. The current model is R5 2600, and I have a 3700 in hand. The latest BIOS version is P1.0 B45MPCB2.20.

I'm facing the same issue with my CyberPower PC B450M GAMING. BOIS doesn't detect any bios, and people suggest using the "B405M a/c," but it still doesn't work. It seems Asrock doesn't offer solutions for this specific motherboard version.

I handled the issue myself! It's crucial the drive isn't just FAT32 but also has a minimum size of 16 bytes, though I'm not sure what that exact value is. My setup was FAT32 2048 by default, and I can adjust it again in the explorer if needed.
