I recently assembled my second PC and it performed well. Others suggested undervolting is highly beneficial for the Ryzen 5000 lineup. After many attempts and watching YouTube tutorials, I successfully lowered the voltage and saw Cinebench scores rise from around 15000 to over 16000 and temperatures drop about 15°C. However, the setup isn't stable. I've checked forums and websites but couldn't find clear guidance on two confusing points about undervolting: - Adjusting PBO limits greatly affected performance metrics. The PPT showed massive temperature gains with minimal performance loss. Currently, I set it to PPT:120, TDC:75, EDC:115, which gave the best balance of speed and heat. In Cinebench all limits reached 100%, but Prime95 only hit 80% while TDC stayed at 100%. Could this relate to crashes? - I discovered that crash events appear in the event viewer, yet I no longer see WHEA errors. The only exception was once for core 1, which I corrected by adjusting the negative offset afterward. I set all cores to -25 and -20, but crashes persist. Reducing them didn't help. I'm not focused on single-core speed, so I aimed for a PBO boost of +50 MHz, but that caused crashes consistently. I suspect there might be a hidden setting or mistake I'm missing. When the BSOD appears, it reports "whea uncorrectable error," yet no event is logged in the viewer. Additionally, I'm running this from the BIOS, which is fully updated. My hardware includes: Motherboard – Asus TUF Gaming B550 Plus; CPU – Ryzen 5800x; Cooler – Corsair H100i Elite; Display – Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8GB; GPU – Nvidia 3070 Ti; Power Supply – 750W 80+ Gold.

Restart, navigate to BIOS, select CPU overclocking, choose Precision Boost Overdrive, set mode to manual/advanced, adjust power limits to motherboard, apply negative offset, and configure per core. Begin with core 0, set offset to 30, and leave others unchanged. Restart to Windows and execute a CPU test in OCCT using large, variable, AVX2 settings. In advanced mode, deselect all except core 0, selecting physical and virtual configurations. Run the test for 15 minutes or until errors occur. If errors appear, lower the offset by 5 in BIOS, restart, and retest. Continue reducing the offset by 5 each time until no errors persist during the session. Once stable, increase the offset by 1 and repeat the process, moving to core 1. Repeat this until the offset is optimized for all cores.
