B350 and x370 are among the first models to adopt AM4, offering the greatest CPU upgrade potential. It seems Amd might be overlooking them.
they’re not taking advantage of us. the b350 boards simply can’t support such strong CPUs anyway. x370 is also quite outdated these days. if you believe AMD is overcharging, what about Intel then?
The latest Ryzen models are employing unique BIOS versions. Using a different BIOS means you won't be able to pair it with the B350 or X370. Possibly even some B450 and X470 variants won't be compatible with the new BIOS.

Upgrading to newer tech can feel like a loss, but B350/X370 chipsets are outdated—they’re progressing as they should. Just because your devices become obsolete every few years doesn’t mean you’re getting a bad deal. Meanwhile, Apple’s decision to launch the iPhone 12 feels like a clear favoritism over your older iPhone 8.
amd mentioned at the start that the am4 socket would be compatible in 2020. they claimed it wouldn't limit support for most CPUs up to that year. technically, each CPU generation could be designed to work only with its specific chipset.
I bought an x370 platform soon after it came out, and I... am fine with that. I didn't purchase a 2000 or 3000 chip, and I won't aim for a 4000 either. Possibly 5000 or 6000. If you really value saving money, try to secure the best option available at that time and keep it until you need a reason to upgrade. If you find a cheaper alternative, that's great. But if not, well... only a handful of parts usually last several years, and the motherboard isn't one of them. I believe AMD fulfilled their commitment by keeping x370 compatible until 2020. I understand your point, but it feels more like they offered a charging cradle that cost half as much as the phone you need, but they stopped supporting it.
