Hello, I'm working on setting up a workstation build originally intended for a Threadripper 7980x. However, I noticed that some EPYC CPUs like the 9655 might offer better performance, and even dual CPU configurations could help. It seems the available drivers are mainly for Windows Server systems. I'm wondering if using drivers on Windows 11 would cause major issues, or if it's even feasible at all. During my research, I found some system builders offering configurators that let you create EPYC-based setups with Windows 11, but I'm not sure how reliable those sources are. Since Linux isn't an option right now, any insights from others about these platforms would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm not clear about your specific needs with those EPYCs. However, if you're using something like a Plex server or a self-hosted VPS running Plesk or a Minecraft server, those might be useful. Otherwise, most users only see value in them for hosting or server tasks.

I mainly use simulation tools for CFD, chemical processes, and a few neural networks. These are mainly for PhD students, so future projects could expand. I’m aiming to run EPIC to maximize CPU performance.
