You need to download and install certain files to enable ACM availability in mp3DirectCut. You should also check if you can adjust the audio track view so that the start and end of long recordings are visible on the screen, similar to other audio editing tools. Long recordings still require scrolling even when zoomed out. The issue with several-hour recordings is that they load slowly in other programs but quickly in mp3DirectCut. Changes made without encoding may fail to load in Audacity. Encoded recordings tend to be much longer and should work with any sound editor.

mp3directcut only accepts mp3 and aac files; there’s no add-on for acm. Consider using the BioWare Infinity Engine instead. This program is free, works exactly as described, and performs its tasks without extra features.
