I'm considering upgrading my PC with a 2.5 gig Ethernet card, but I need to verify if my system can handle it based on PCIe lanes. My current setup includes a Ryzen 7 5800X, MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus, and a Rocket 4 1TB drive with Crucial P3 storage and an RTX 3070. I'm curious whether a 2.5 Ethernet card will work without affecting performance or causing issues. This is the solution I'm thinking of, and I hope it fits well in my setup. I just got a new internet connection with 2 gigabits per second and I also use it for my NAS, so I’m aiming to purchase a card for both to take advantage of the 2.5 gigabits.
