No 1080P+ YT on Firefox?
No 1080P+ YT on Firefox?
I just installed Firefox on my laptop and noticed I don’t have this problem. However, it does occur during the standard installation. The issue stems from YouTube’s HTML5 support—only 720p is available in Firefox, and 60fps is only emerging now. Chrome, being a Google product, handles this differently. Flash is blocked in Firefox due to security concerns, which limits you to HTML5. To enable 1080p playback, you’ll need to manually allow Flash. Also, consider removing the Yahoo search feature while using it.
Actually, I believe Firefox doesn't block the newest Flash version. I just started Firefox on my computer after a fresh installation, and it worked at 1080p once Flash was set up. Just install Flash and avoid using that McAfee software.
I'm still processing what I read. The phrase "fucking yahoo" feels like a direct remark toward someone, though I often think about it in that way. For the question, installing Firefox for testing worked smoothly—Linus's video on the MSI GT80 Titan played in 4K without any problems. No need to toggle Flash; it just functioned perfectly. Did I somehow get lucky?
You can enable HTML5 and it functions properly. I discovered this resource: https://www.youtube.com/html5
