I'm just getting started with Skyrim modding again. It's been a while since I tried it, and now I have a lot to do. I'm wondering if using a third-party mod manager could get me in trouble. I know many people use it, and it's been around since the game was released, but my frustration has taken over. Is using a third-party tool against the terms of service? It's software that changes game files, right? Thanks, and don't worry about the silly question.

Everything will be okay. Changing through the nexus offers additional choices. Modding via workshop is simpler. I understand this isn’t your main concern, but I’ll note it.

I've been using MO for nearly a year and haven't been banned. No one I know has ever faced such a situation. Steam Workshop isn't as impressive as MO or NMM, but it's just how things are set up. I really enjoy MO—it lets you customize so much. You can even configure it to save downloads to Mod Organizer when you click "Download via NMM" on Nexus Mods. It functions perfectly.
