Hi Guys ,
Here the story i have bought a NH U14s to replace my old Tx3 in order to cool my i5 4690k @4,4Ghz ( 1.12 vcore).
First this ventirad is amazing my cpu in idle stay at 25° and do not further than 65° max in load ( average being 60°) in battlefront 1440p all set in ultra ( 100 fps average with my Gtx 980 ti
) note that the room temp is 21°.
I decided to add a second fan to have a set up in push pull , hence i have bought a second NF A15 which is supposed to be exact the same fan than the one provided/ included with the NH U14S.
First fan is plug on cpu fan connector and second fan on cpu opt connector.
I noticed than altrought Fan are supposed to be the same they are not...
The one included with the NH U14s is 1500 rpm max, the second one (NF A15 ) is 1200 rpm max !!!
They are both plug in PWM ( cpu fan and cpu opt ) but unable to spin at exactly at the same rpm level ( it was my expectation as cpu opt mirror the cpu fan rpm level)
There is always a delta of around 200-300 rpm between both , for example when the one included with the Cooler is at 800 rpm ( push one ) the second one spin at 600 rpm ( pull one) it's the same at all level at max the ventirad one is at 1500 rpm and the second one is 1200 rpm.
So while the temp still look ok here my question :
1 / Is the fan included in the NH U14s not a real NF A15 ? Why it do not share exactly the same rpm range ? Any clue is welcome.
2/ is that an issue in a push/pull set up to have this discrepency between both fan ( 200-300 rpm) , i had in mind the fact that in this kind of set up both fan have to spin at the same rpm level to have an efficient set up.
3/ IF 2 is an issue how to solve that ? Buy another NF A15 ( to have the exact same rpm range than the second one i added ? ) alternativly i was thinking to plug the LNA adaptator to the first fan to reduce his speed and hence align it on the second NF A15 ?
Looking at internet i noticed to all the description of the NH U14s state that the fan included ( NF A15) spin at 1500 rpm max , but when you buy another NF A15 ( Alone without the ventirad ) spéc said 1200 rpm max....so despite both are labelled NF A15 They are not really the same...
Any insight is welcome
