NFS setup issues reported Not functioning properly
I saved and set up NFS undercover through Origin, yet the game remains stuck during startup. I adjusted the compatibility settings to Windows XP or Vista, but the problem persists. After reinstalling the game, it still doesn’t work.
Windows compatibility settings are malfunctioning and often fail to function properly, especially on most systems. This might mean it’s best to run your older games on a Windows XP machine instead. I tried that and it resolved the issue. Compatibility mode has always been unreliable, but it seems things have gotten even worse recently.
Some games function properly while others don't, often depending on the disc and the situation. From my experience, compatibility between Windows versions isn't always reliable. For example, a program that runs smoothly on Windows 98 might not work on Windows 10 without issues. The resource requirements and system needs play a big role. I can play certain titles on Windows 10 but not on Windows 7. Other programs like Total CAD Version 2 seem to work well on newer systems, which makes it seem like a matter of luck. A possible fix would be using a separate Windows XP machine running an XP VM or possibly XP itself.
I started it normally, but I required an ISO since my system lacks a drive.
I don’t believe NFS undercover on Origin requires an ISO. I wasn’t asked for a CD key since I can start the game directly.
