So some experts are suggesting we start over, especially those who want to push performance beyond normal limits. With tools like MSI Afterburner, things seem a bit simpler. However, I recently bought a Gigabyte G1 1070 and plan to overclock it. While using MSI A.B. and the Valley benchmark, I tried adjusting settings. I increased the Power Limit and gradually raised both Core and Memory Clocks. Eventually, my screen stopped working, so I reset everything and reduced the changes. There were no noticeable improvements in Valley. As for voltage, most recommend setting it to its maximum. With a new, costly card, I’m a bit concerned. Some say you shouldn’t change the voltage, while others believe even at full power there’s not enough energy to cause damage. I’m still seeking advice.
The maximum voltage on AB is around +15%, which shouldn't be a big issue. Still, since you're aiming for the best balance between power and speed, I'm not sure pushing the power too high is the right idea... I usually try how far you can go with stock power, then gradually reduce it once problems start until you find a comfortable power/speed combination.
