You're starting out with manual overclocking and want to verify your approach. It's good you've noticed the voltage rising to 1.4V with ASUS AI. For your i9 10850K, setting all-core sync to 4.9GHz seems reasonable for stable temperatures on a 240mm AIO. You're achieving 40°C idle and 83°C during Cinebench R23, which is solid. When gaming at 50°C, keeping OC at 4.9GHz appears appropriate. If you're not using Cinebench, your temps should remain acceptable. Look for apps that demand full 10-core usage—such as certain stress tests or resource-heavy games—to see if they push temperatures beyond what you're comfortable with.
Run the maximum frequency you can achieve with 1.2/1.25 vcore, aiming for around 4.8-5ghz. Lightly reduce the CPU voltage to improve temperatures and efficiency without sacrificing performance.
The settings aren't very advanced. The standard voltage for 4900 MHz is excessively high. Adjust the BIOS to enable a 4.9 GHz overclock and change the voltage to around 1.25V instead of 1.376V.
After two days experimenting with BIOS, I’d say it’s a solid overclock. All ten cores running at 5GHz with 3V and a max temperature of 71°C at 100 degrees. My 240mm AIO seems pretty limited in what it can handle.
The figure shown in your screenshot from the Asus software seems irrelevant. The actual CPU package temperature might be accurate. For reliable readings, consider using HWiNFO and trust its measurements for CPU Package temperature. The information HWiNFO displays reflects the hottest area on the CPU package.
