You can install Windows on the new SSD while keeping your existing HDD, but you’ll need to format the old drive before transferring data. Simply back up important files first, then create a bootable USB drive with Windows, and use it to install on the SSD. After installation, you can switch your system to use the new SSD without formatting the old one.

Confirm SSD appears first in boot sequence before HDD. Recommend preparing an HDD format later. Certain system files can be difficult to remove.

I would take the step of removing the HDD during the setup process, ensuring everything stays in its proper place and prevents future complications. (Windows can handle this automatically without notifying you.)
